Grandmother goes viral after she colour codes all of her 15 grandchildren

Melissa Carton

This is brilliant.

If your grandmother doesn’t call you by all of your cousins names before she gets to yours is she even really your grandmother?

I have to give it to grandparents though when it comes to even trying to remember dozens of names. I only have two children and I still manage to get their names confused so how grandparents manage to remember who is who I’ll never know.

One grandmother decided to make life a little easier for herself by creating a new system for figuring out who is who our of her grandchildren and I have to say I love it.

While posted a couple of years ago this grandmother’s hack was recently discovered through parenting page Roussel Six Pack and has blown up on social media and across almost every parenting website.

The photo features 15 children numbered from oldest to youngest but they are also coloured coded to indicate who their siblings are.

There were even some comments praising the mum of the pink t-shirted girls;

“Are 5, 6, 9 and 13, 14, and 15 all siblings?! Their mother must be a saint!”

The mum of the six of the pink t-shirted children is none other than the original poster Roussel who was shocked when the photograph took off as it had just started off as a cute thing to do with the family;

“I have to say we had NO IDEA this picture would be shared so much and resonate with so many people. We just thought it would be a fun pic to take of all the cousins while we were at the beach.”

I think if I suggested this to my grandmother she would probably root out a load of t-shirts from her attic along with a Sharpie and get coding us. That being said she’d probably still get some of us mixed up.
