'Kate always wanted more than two children.'

We’re sure he’s very excited now but that mightn’t always have been the case.

Kate Middleton reportedly had to convince Prince William to have another child.

The couple, who are already parents to Prince George and Princess Charlotte, are due to welcome their third baby this month.

And the Duchess of Cambridge is said to have always been hopeful to have a third child, telling friends it was a “never say never” situation.

But it looks like people close to the couple were stunned when Duchess Kate announced she was pregnant again.

According to The Express, everyone was convinced that the pair were finished having kids after welcoming a boy and a girl.

But an insider revealed that Kate had to convince Prince William to have more children.

“Kate always wanted more than two children, it was William who needed to be persuaded,” the source said.

“As one of three, Kate wanted at least three. William was more reluctant, not just because he was one of two, but because George was quite a difficult baby.

“Then they had Charlotte and she was a lot easier. Now the idea of a newborn doesn’t seem half as challenging, they’ve done it twice before and they’ve got all their staff in place.”

Meanwhile, the final preparations are being made ahead of the new arrival.

The roads around St Mary’s Hospital where Kate will give birth (all going well) are closed, meaning it’s just a matter of time before there’s a new royal baby.
