Kate Upton opens up about feeling ‘so much pressure’ to breastfeed

Kate Upton was blasted into the limelight when she was only 18-years-old.

And now, nearly ten years later, she has spoken about how life has changed from her modelling days – and that’s all thanks to her daughter, Genevieve.

Kate and her husband Justin Verlander welcomed their daughter Genevieve in November 2018, and now in a new interview with Editorialist, she has spoke out about the struggles of motherhood.

“Having VeVe has changed my life in such a wonderful way,” she said, before explaining that when her child was first born, she felt “so much pressure” to be the perfect mum.

She felt like she needed “to be doing all these things, like breastfeeding on the go—when the reality, for me, was that breastfeeding was sucking the energy away from me. I realised I needed to calm down, to allow my body to recover.”

While the former Vogue cover model doesn’t say whether she switched to formula, mixed it up or pumped, she says that having Genevieve changed her outlook on a lot of things and made her realise that she needs to slow down and not panic in order to be the best mum she can be.
