A large amount of parents would prefer their children to be involved in arts and crafts

What activities do your kids partake in?

While we all have hopes that in the evening they might read a book or draw a picture, more likely than not they’re either watching TV or playing a game on a phone or iPad.

However, more parents have expressed an interest in wanting their kids to be involved in more arts and crafts projects.

Research commissioned by Haven Pharmacy has revealed that nearly one in three children spend a minimum of two hours a day in front of a screen, while only 20 percent engage in arts and crafts.

It also found that an overwhelming 75 percent of parents are worried about the potential negative effect technology may be having on their children’s mental and physical health.

80 percent of parents also admitted they would like to see their children involved in more arts projects.

To try and get children more involved with arts and crafts, Haven is launching a colouring competition for kids aged 4 – 7 years old and 8 – 12 years old.

To enter the Healthy Minds Colouring Competition, just pop into your local Haven Pharmacy and pick up your entry form. To find out more information, visit here.
