A massive congratulations to her.

Lottie Ryan has said that she believes her late dad Gerry Ryan “helped her out” with her Dancing With The Stars win.

The 33 year old presenter was crowned the winner of last night’s final after RTÉ decided to push forward the last episode by one week due to the coronavirus.

Ryan and partner Pasquale La Rocca took home the coveted glitterball trophy following a heated final against Aidan Fogarty, Ryan Andrews and Grainne Gallanagh.

She later said that she was “lost for words” following the win.

“I woke up this morning thinking I was going to be in the semi-finals and next thing we knew, we were dancing in the finals,” Ryan told The Sun.

“I can’t believe it.”

The radio presenter said she believed her dad had been with her throughout the final, which came just weeks before the tenth anniversary of his passing.

“I think he definitely had a had in this win, he definitely was helping me out tonight,” she said.

“I wore his microphone pin. I’m not religious but when things happen at around the same time it does make you think.”

Last night’s Dancing With The Stars final took place without an audience due to the coronavirus.

Much RTÉ programming has experienced changes since the government announced reactionary measures amid the pandemic last week.

Friday night’s Late Late Show also took place without an audience and featured advice from GPs and virus experts on how best to minimise social contact and tackle the spread of the virus.

Yesterday, Minister for Health Simon Harris asked all pubs and clubs across the country to close until at least March 29.

Schools, colleges, and childcare facilities will also remain closed.
