Ah, bless.

Maddox Jolie-Pitt has only gone and said some really sweet things about his mum Angelina.

In his first interview, the 16-year-old told People magazine that he really loved working with Angelina on the set of her new film, First They Killed My Father.

Maddox even went so far as to call his mum “a wonder.”

“I was trying to help wherever I could (…) “(She’s) fun, funny, and easy to work with. She’s a wonder.”

Maddox is listed as an executive producer on the film which tells a survival story from the Khmer Rouge genocide in Cambodia.

The teenager watched many documentaries in preparation for his role and even encouraged his mum to go ahead with the project in the first place.

Angelina is the film’s director and another one of her son’s, 13-year-old Pax, acted as set photographer.

The mum described her Maddox’s dedication to the project, saying that he was “absorbing” everything he could about the country’s history.

“He goes back and forth (to Cambodia) a lot, but this would be over four months of just being in the country, really reading, listening, learning and absorbing all things about his culture and country (including) the very, very dark parts.”

Maddox was adopted by Angelina from Cambodia in 2002.

The actress then continued to extend her family by adopting Zahara Jolie-Pitt from Ethiopia in 2005 and Pax Jolie-Pitt from Vietnam in 2007.

She is also mother to children Shiloh, Knox, and Vivienne.

It was announced last year that Angelina and Brad Pitt were filing for divorce after an argument allegedly broke out between Brad and son Maddox on a private plane.

The mum-of-six told People that the split had made her “a little bit stronger,” but that she always knew she had a responsibility to her children.

“We all have our difficult times, but as a mother you also have a responsibility first and foremost towards the kids. They are going through their formative years and everything else comes second to that.”

First They Killed My Father will be available to stream on Netflix from Friday.
