Mum asks whether her sitting room is messy and other mums tear her to shreds

Jade Hayden

Harsh, lads.

It’s not even that bad.

Everyone has their own idea of what ‘messy’ entails.

For some people, it’s a mild pile of clothes on the ground. For others, it’s a crumb of toast on the floor. And for a fair few, you could literally have your entire home in a giant pile on a coffee table with human excrement smeared up the walls and they’d still think it was neat enough.

Each to their own, we suppose.

One mum, however, wanted some honest opinions on whether her sitting room was messy.

So, she took to Mumsnet to share a picture of it… and people were not impressed.

Fairly harsh, in fairness to them.

The mum wrote:

“This is my living room. No matter how much I tidy it, it always seems to end up at this point.

“To me it’s neither tidy nor messy. Similar to the rest of my house really! For some reason I can never get a totally spotless house! Ever!!”

To other people though, it was pretty messy.

We don’t agree, whatever, but here’s what they had to say when she asked if the room was messy.

“Yes.”

“Yeah it is.”

“Yes, messy.”

“Yes. I couldn’t relax in that room.”

See? We told you, harsh.

One person even said that the coat hanging on the door was giving them “anxiety” which we think is a tad dramatic but what can you do.

So, what do you think? Should she be ashamed of her ‘messy’ room or just chill out a bit?
