Wife asks whether she should be leaving food for her husband when she goes out

Olivia Hayes

Well…

Between taking care of the kids, working, and doing general housework, it’s safe to say we all deserve an evening out with friends every now and again.

A trip to the cinema to see the latest rom-com or a night on the tiles is just what’s needed when you’re running around 24/7.

However, this woman has taken to an online forum to ask if it’s strange that her friend always makes dinner for her husband if she’s going out for the night.

She wrote:

“Friend telling me about her night out, reassuring me that she left a meal for her DH, though he did still have to put it in the oven himself.

“I was a bit wtf? I’ve never done this… should I be for DP?! Did you do it pre kids? (Neither of us have kids yet).”

Many replied that their own husbands are perfectly capable of cooking their own dinners.

One said:

“It would never occur to me. He’s an adult and was able to feed himself before we got married, and it’s a skill he has not lost.”

While another wrote:

“In 35 years marriage, I have never done this.”

And one more simply replied:

“Nope.”

Would you leave dinner for your other half if you’re going out? Do you think it’s reasonable? You can read the full thread here.
