Just in time for Christmas!

A Romanian man living in Tipperary has won the €100,000 jackpot on a scratchcard.

The 28-year-old man has said that he will wait until Christmas to tell his family so he can surprise them with €10,000 each.

The man moved to Ireland six years ago for work.

However, he lost his job two months ago and has since been looking for another job.

He bought the winning scratchcard in Mace in Monard, Co. Tipperary and says that he plans to surprise his family by putting €10,000 cheques into gift boxes under the Christmas tree.

He said:

“I cannot wait to see their faces when they open the boxes on Christmas morning and see what is inside. I am going to say nothing about this win until then.”

He also said that he wanted to visit Romania and do some renovations on his old house before finding a new job.

Also winning big this week was a mum from Monaghan who picked up €20,000 on a Merry Money scratch card.

She said she already had all her Christmas shopping done but she might get a new car.
