Single mum dresses up as ‘dad’ for school event so kids won’t feel left out

Bless them.

Parent-child school events are lovely.

They allow parents to get more involved in their kids’ lives and meet other parents while they’re at it.

They also allow kids to ‘show-off’ their mums and dads to their friends because, let’s be honest, who among us didn’t do this when we were younger?

One mum, however, who feared that her children might be feeling a little left out at a parent-child school event was single mum, Michelle Srenco.

And that’s because the event was for students’ dads.

So she decided to dig out a plaid shirt, a cap, and some marker and dress up as a dad for the ‘Donuts with Dad’ event.

According to Facebook page Love What Matters, Michelle is a domestic abuse survivor who left her partner many years ago.

She regularly attends these kinds of events just as herself, but this year, she decided to try something a little different.

And people were only delighted to see a single mum going all out to ensure her kids’ happiness.

They took to the page’s comments section to share their support.

“So cute,” wrote one person.

“From one single mom to another… keep loving and supporting your kids any way you believe is right. So proud of your bravery!” said another.
