Tayto Park are hosting another autism-friendly day this month.

The theme park are teaming up with Autism Ireland to host an autism awareness event on Saturday, April 14.

The park will become autism-friendly between the hours of 9am and 12pm next Saturday to help raise awareness for Autism Ireland.

During this time, there will be no music played throughout the park, there will be minimal queuing, and no hand dyers in the bathrooms will be switched on.

There will also be a silent room available for use by any families who need to take a break from the activities in the park itself.

This isn’t the first time Tayto Park has run an autism-friendly day either.

Late last year, the park introduced their first autism awareness day which included a visual guide to help parents prepare the trip with their children.

The guide outlined the situations and behaviours that children with autism might have encountered on the day.

To prepare for the day, Tayto Park staff are also being trained with Autism Ireland.

€2 from each ticket sold will be donated to Autism Ireland.
