This dad’s calm and honest method of dealing with his daughter’s temper tantrum has gone viral.
US based Terrel Rico Relz Crawford was out shopping with his family, including his three year old daughter Ari and Ari’s mum Ashely Miller.
But when her parents took away her mum’s cellphone from her, Ari began to break down in tears.
Terrel brought the toddler out to the parking lot, placed her on the hood of their car…and began filming her tantrum on Facebook Live.
The 29 year old took the time during the six minute clip to explain his firm but loving parenting philosophy.
He begins by telling Ari that they won’t be heading back inside the store until she calms down.
He continues:
“When you spoil the hell out of your kids, this is what happens.
“That’s our fault for being raised as ghetto kids and never having anything, but see, people don’t know how to tell their kids no.
“I don’t care if you was grew up with a silver spoon in your mouth.
“Don’t put one in your child’s mouth, because this is what happens.”
He encourages Ari to “wipe the stress” off her face, before ultimately calming her down and making sure she is okay to head back into the store.
And by the time they’re heading back through the doors of Walmart, Ari is smiling, laughing and dancing in her dad’s arms.
Terrel’s candid reasoning with his daughter – and the Facebook Live viewers – led the video to go viral.
It has gotten almost 23 million views since it was first posted.
