‘I know that’s Aoife video calling me and texting me with loads of emojis and all this’.

Una Healy has opened up the steps she takes to ensure her daughter is safe when using the internet.

The mum-of-two spoke to VIP about her concerns, telling them that her daughter Aoife is a big fan of the likes of Youtube.

“She’ll take the phone so when I see ‘Daddy’ lighting up, or ‘Dee sis’ I know that’s Aoife video calling me and texting me with loads of emojis and all this,” she said.

“I’ve blocked her from being on adult YouTube so she can only go on Kids YouTube and I’ve enabled all the settings so that no adult content can come through because god knows who she could be speaking to, you have to keep an eye on things.”

Una continued: “She has got an iPad but I’ve got all the blocks in place because you never know what might filter through, so I’m constantly looking through everything and I watch her while she’s on it, it’s obviously a huge responsibility of mine to maintain that, and to protect her because it’s scary.”

You can never be too safe. Do you take any specific steps to ensure your child is safe online?
