Toddlers, eh?

Gently bring up the fact that it’s bedtime – tantrum.

Get them into jammies, get the teeth brushed, read a story and put them to bed – tantrum.

Climb into the bed with them and stay there until they finally fall asleep.

Silently slip out of the bed and begin towards the door – tantrum.

Every family has its own bedtime routine but getting a toddler down for the night and actually keeping them in bed are two different battles.

One dad who knows that is Wesley Quilty, who shared the incredible lengths his two-year-old goes to get out of bed.

He decided to install a second baby gate over the first one on the door of her room after she kept managing to get out at night.

What he didn’t realise was that the second gate would prove to be no obstacle for his ninja-like daughter.

Wesley managed to capture on camera the moment the little girl expertly scaled the baby gates, swung herself over the top and slid down the other side to freedom.

He had already put her back to bed when he heard her on the move again.

“(I) thought I’m going capture her escaping, didn’t realise I’ve got her mid-climb,” he wrote alongside the clip he posted to Youtube.
