Clonakilty has launched a vegan pudding and we can’t wait to try it with the kids

This sounds delish.

Going veggie? Of all the things you might miss, your Saturday morning fry is probably up there.

Happily, the folks at the Clonakilty Food Co are now making it a little easier to cut back on meat.

After decades of producing the world’s tastiest black and white puddings (I’m from Cork, don’t @ me), they’ve created a vegan pudding – and it looks savage.

The new Clonakilty Veggie Pudding is made from oats, onions, carrots, black beans and the trademark secret recipe spice mix so you’ll get all the flavour of its original puddings.

“Made with the same passion for taste and quality as our famous Clonakilty Black and White pudding, we think you will love its delicious oaty bite and distinctive spice aroma,” the brand has said.

You cook it the exact same way you’d cook pork pudding too – lash it in the pan, give it three minutes on either side and serve up.

As well as being suitable for vegetarians and vegans, the pudding is also free from artificial additives or preservatives as well as gluten, making it coeliac-friendly.

The news has been greeted with delight by fans of the Clonakilty range.

“This is amazing! I’m medically allergic to pork and feel like I’m missing out on breakfast fry ups. Can’t wait to pick some up tomorrow for the weekend!” wrote one follower on Instagram.

“Oh my I can’t wait to try this,” commented another.

We’ll definitely be sticking this on the shopping list.
