One of the most popular children’s birthday cake characters ever is all grown up and fresh on the dating scene.
Marks & Spencers’ ever popular Colin the Caterpillar has a sweet new beau in the form of Connie the Caterpillar, who can now be seen by his side on the supermarket shelves.
While Colin, a chocolate sponge roll filled with chocolate buttercream and covered in milk chocolate with a white chocolate face, is permanently on the birthday party invite list (he’s a favourite of none other than David Beckham), Connie is set to become a style guru amongst cake fashionistas, sporting several pairs of flowery high tops and a milk chocolate coat covered in pink sweets and white and pink sugar paste hearts.
And she’s a sweetheart through and through – an all butter chocolate sponge roll filled with delicious strawberry flavoured buttercream.
It’s been a big year for Colin, who recently got a make-over to celebrate 25 years of candles and wishes. His special edition look included new coloured feet, a party hat and a sprinkling of chocolate-coated popping candy.
And it was high time he had a wardrobe overhaul: Colin has been guest of honour at a whopping seven million birthday parties in his lengthy career.
