Pickles, ice cream, chocolate and some strange sandwich combinations are some of the most classic pregnancy cravings.

Ideally at some really odd times. And  some strange intervals, of course.

Research commissioned by Deliveroo found that some of the top treats Irish mum-to-bes crave are chocolate, ice cream and cheese and onion crisps.

So, the food delivery service have announced their latest collaboration, which rolls a number of popular pregnancy cravings into one.

The company partnered with Dublin-based ice cream parlour, Scoop, to create two unique ice cream flavours for mum-to-bes.

The sweet and savoury flavours – Cadbury Dairy Milk and Cheese and Onion Crisps – have launched on the app just in time for Ice Cream for Breakfast Day (February 3).

On the partnership, Deliveroo’s Joe Groves said:

“Food brings comfort to so many people at different stages in their lives, especially during pregnancy.

“Our research shows that pregnant women typically experience cravings during the afternoon, and if that means they fancy a chocolate and crisp ice-cream combo then we’re here to help!”

Meanwhile, Scoop’s parlour manager, Bobby Ortiz, said they were delighted to be partnering with Deliveroo on the launch.

He added:

“Gelato tends to be one of the go to foods when it comes to pregnancy cravings and we’ve had our fair share of pregnant women come to our stores looking for the answer over the years.”
