We love that sweet, sweet smell of baking around the holidays.

It’s especially great when you get the whole family in on the fun. We know things can get a little messy, so it’s best to go for an easy option.

Baking is supposed to be incredibly enjoyable, so we’ve put together a super easy recipe to have a crack at this holiday season using Homecook’s delicious chocolate Wonderbars. You’ll have a blast making it and even more fun eating them.

Chocolatey Marshmallow Snowmen

For these you will need a dark chocolate Homecook Wonderbar, a bag of marshmallows, pretzel sticks, paper cupcake cases, and a small tube of black writing icing (optional).

The first step requires mum or dad to take charge.

  • Melt the Wonderbar over the hob.
  • When melted, spoon into cupcake cases, making sure there’s a thick layer of chocolate at the bottom of each.
  • Be sure to leave a little bit of melted chocolate in the bowl to use when constructing your snowmen.

The kids will love creating something like the above too

  • Stick the other end of the marshmallow into one of the paper cases. Be sure it’s stuck well into the chocolate but don’t push all the way through.
  • Stick another marshmallow on top of the first, so that each snowman is two marshmallows tall (or three if you want to go wild!) You can stick the top mallows together by adding a dab of melted chocolate between them – though make sure you can’t see it.
  • Next, stick a pretzel stick on both sides of each snowman to make the arms.
  • Wait for the chocolate to cool and when it has hardened, remove the paper cases. Voilà! You have yourself some lovely little Chocolatey Marshmallow Snowmen.

Finally, use the black icing to draw eyes and a smile. If you don’t have the black icing, you can also use a knife or the bottom end of a teaspoon to draw on a smile and eyes with any remaining melted chocolate.

You can add a nose with a little bit of pretzel too and then Mr or Ms Snowman’s face is complete.

The kids will have oodles of fun baking these Christmassy treats and, trust us, they taste super yummy too. So grab the baking tools, gather the kids, and get to it.
