Count us in.

This Sunday, Galway Racecourse has partnered with The National Breast Cancer Research Institute to host a dedicated fundraiser called Race in Pink.

The day will consist of a three-course lunch, chats, admission to the racecourse, a drinks reception and live music.

Many well-known faces will be there on the day including RTE’s Tracy Piggott, Tom Lee and former England and Arsenal footballer Martin Keown.

There will also be a raffle on the day with your chance to win a winter trip to Lanzarote plus finally, an auction led by local auctioneer James Heaslip from DNG Maxwell Heaslip & Leonard.

Speaking ahead of this fundraiser, researcher at The National Breast Cancer Research Institute, Professor Michael Kerin said:

“The National Breast Cancer Research Institute is very grateful to the Galway Race Committee for helping us in our efforts to improve diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer.

Continuing he explained how important this fundraiser is for raising vital funds.

“Our research is relevant to everyone and focuses on such diverse areas as genetics, tumour markers, novel therapies, better diagnostics and reconstruction. We are very excited to partner with such a historic and forward-thinking West of Ireland brand as the Galway Races and hope to make the “Race in Pink” day a huge success.”
