Guilt-free treat: Try these peanut butter apples slices when you’re craving a cookie

Always prone to the aul’ afternoon slump and the usual craving for something sweet to get you through?

Yup, us too.

Which is why we are always on the hunt for something healthy, yet satisfying to snack on come that time a day.

And now we think we’ve found just the thing. Say hello to peanut butter apples slices – topped with whatever healthy topping you fancy.

Ingredients

  • 2 large sweet apples (red delicious, honey crisp, gala, etc.)
  • 1/2 cup nut butter of your choice
  • Toppings (choose any): cranberries, pumpkin seeds, coconut flakes, chocolate chips, chopped dates, almonds, etc.

Instructions

  1. Slice the apples crosswise into thin circles, discarding both ends and removing visible seeds.
  2. Top each slice with a couple teaspoons of nut butter, using a knife to spread evenly.
  3. Set out toppings and let everyone DIY their own apple cookie!
