Get excited folks! IKEA is launching a vegan ice cream

Rebecca O'Keeffe

The 'Ice Cream' is being touted as a 'must-try' sex position - but there's one major flaw

Game-changer.

I’m not a vegan, but I can’t imagine it’s a walk in the park.

Whether you changed for dietary reasons, or any other reason – it’s tough.

All of a sudden, you are very limited in the food you can eat.

That’s why I’m so pleased to announce that IKEA is launched a vegan ice cream.

I know, very exciting.

The store has announced that the vegan ice cream will be suitable for “vegetarians, vegans, flexitarians.”

FYI, a flexitarian is a person who has a primarily vegetarian diet but occasionally eats meat or fish.

I didn’t know it was a thing either.

“The development of the new IKEA soft ice is work in progress with a first test of a fruit-based version currently ongoing in IKEA stores in Portugal.”

IKEA is hoping to launch the ice cream in all stores by summer 2019.

The idea behind the product is to “inspire people to a healthier and more sustainable lifestyle.”

They will do this by “offering delicious food that has a positive impact on people and the planet.”

A delightful sentiment.

Range manager at IKEA Food Services, Gerry Dufresne released a statement about the launch.

“The dairy-based soft ice is one of the most popular IKEA Bistro products worldwide. We want the plant-based version to be simply as delicious, soft and airy as our traditional one.

“We’re working closely with different suppliers to find the right taste and texture and are currently exploring three different alternative, either based on oats, soy or fruits.”

Roll on 2019.
