Indoor fun: 3-ingredient rainy-day cookies (to save your afternoon)

It’s a real washout of a day.

While we were blessed with the most glorious weather last weekend, this weekend has been a mixed bag, to say the least, topped off with a real washout of a Bank Holiday Monday today.

And as we pack away the paddling pools, us mums are again faced with the age-old questions: What the heck can we do with the kids today to stop them climbing the walls?

But don’t worry mamas; we got you.

These easy, peasy butter cookies are the PERFECT baking project to keep your stir-crazy kiddos entertained on a rainy afternoon. They require only three ingredients, bake in no time and taste DIVINE.

The best bit? You can let your little go to town when it comes to decorating them. Sprinkles or chocolate chips are bound to be a winner with the kids, but you can also keep them on the slightly healthier (and more sophisticated) side by decorating with pine nuts, sesame seeds, goji berries or grains of sea salt. Your cookies, your choice!

Oh – and what we love the most? That you can garnishes these beauties with pretty much whatever takes your fancy!

All of these are excellent options: walnuts, sprinkles, goji berries, chocolate chips, blanched almonds, shelled pistachios, pine nuts, big grains of sea salt, tiny spoonfuls of jam—or whatever you like!
