Exciting times!

Our fave Italian is getting a new location. Hurrah!

Jamie’s Italian, by celebrity chef, Jamie Oliver is opening up in a new location in Dublin. The restaurant which already has a busy branch within Dundrum town centre is looking to expand and believes the heart of Dublin is the perfect place.

The Dundrum branch is currently the chain’s only restaurant in Ireland, which first opened its doors in 2012 and since then, has seen great success with busy weekdays and even busier weekends with plenty of satisfied customers.

Jamie’s Italian was also listed late last year as one of the healthiest restaurants to eat with your children according to the Out For Lunch campaign.

And now, The Irish Times reports that the chain plans to open in the city centre within the next six months and at the moment, it is a case of looking for the perfect location. Gerard Fitzpatrick who launched the Dundrum restaurant said:

“It’s location, location, location. You really need to be in the middle of the strongest footfall possible. Looking for new premises is very difficult. We live in a very small city, and most restaurants want at least 100 seats, which is not easy to come by.”

He also added that the staggering rental demands make it “really tough at the moment.”

He however admitted he is very optimistic that they will open within the next six months, seating between 60 to 100 customers.

We can’t wait!
