Domino’s is giving away free pizza to Ireland’s frontline care workers

Ireland’s healthcare workers deserve the world and more.

As if their jobs weren’t difficult enough prior to the pandemic, they’re now expected to put their health on the line to look after society’s most vulnerable in the midst of the Covid-19 outbreak.

It’s a tough gig, but somebody’s got to do it – and thankfully, despite its challenges, there is light at the end of the tunnel… in the form of free pizza.

Hey, it’s something, right?

Domino’s Pizza are offering the country’s frontline care workers the chance to win free pizza for themselves, their household, and their colleagues for a year – for being a Local Legend.

Each Local Legend, nominated by a friend of family member for being incredible, will be granted a monthly pizza party delivery to their household every month for a year.

Domino’s will also be delivering pizzas to each Local Legend’s work colleagues every month too. Because being a legend is a team effort, obviously.

We want to say a heartfelt thank you to our amazing frontline care workers in Ireland, who continue to support us all,” said Dominic Paul, CEO of Domino’s Pizza Group.

“Knowing many of you continue to quietly put in long hours to keep things moving, no matter what life throws at us, we wanted to give the nation’s heroes a guaranteed reason to relax, reflect and enjoy some down time with their household every month.”

And so they deserve. Frontline care workers have been busy protecting the community since the beginning of the pandemic, putting their own health and safety on the line to look after the vulnerable and sick in our communities.

Since March, countless initiatives and campaigns have been launched to give something back to nurses, care home workers, and HSE staff. It may be a small gesture, but a bit of pizza can go a long way.

It’s also delicious, lest we forget.

Domino’s will be accepting nominations for Local Legends from October 15 – 30 here. Winners will be selected at random and announced on November 16.
