Feeling bad about your processed food intake lately?
Yeah; us too. That’s why we went digging for a decadent treat we could enjoy while we’re trying to remain on the straight and narrow.
This is one of the best recipes we’ve come across in ages. Great fun to whip together with very little cleaning-up (always a bonus), it’s healthy and homemade.
Keep it in the cupboard for months or add a spoonful to a banana smoothie.
Ingredients:
-
330g hazelnuts
-
2 tbsp sunflower oil
-
120g honey
-
pinch of salt
-
2 tbsp cacao powder
-
1 tsp vanilla extract/essence
Directions:
-
Preheat oven to 175C
-
To make your roasted hazelnut butter: Roast hazelnuts in preheated oven for about 7-10 mins until they are nicely roasted. Put in food processor and blend with the 2 tbsp oil and a pinch of salt for 5-15 minutes until its all nice and smooth. In some food processors it will be done in 5 minutes and in others it may take up to 15 minutes Note: Alternatively you can simply use a jar of roasted hazelnut butter and skip this step. We sell them on our online shop if you can’t find it anywhere :)
-
Once done take it out of food processor into a mixing bowl. Add all rest of the ingredients and mix thoroughly it all together well with a fork.
-
Put it in an empty jar.
-
It will last for months and doesn’t need to be refrigerated.
