McDonald’s are launching a healthy Happy Meal for kids to revamp the menu

This comes due to a demand from parents.

McDonald’s are making big changes to their menu by expanding the food options available in kid’s Happy Meals.

In a bid to make the kid’s range of food choices healthier, McDonald’s are adding new options to choose from when creating a Happy Meal.

Currently, children can choose from three Fish Fingers, four Chicken McNuggets, as well as a cheeseburger and hamburger, and now, McDonald’s are adding a grilled chicken wrap to the menu. The grilled chicken wrap has been added as a healthy alternative containing a lower fat percentage than any of the other options on the menu.

The wrap consists of a grilled chicken breast, lettuce and tomato ketchup all served in a tortilla wrap.

Parents and children also have the option of choosing a fruit bag or carrot sticks as an alternative to chips, cutting out excess saturated fat and salt. A bottle of water or a carton of milk are also options on the menu to chose from instead of a fizzy drink or fruit juice from concentrate which contain a high percentage of refined sugar.

This change to menu comes due to a high demand for change from mother’s on the popular forum, Mumsnet. The new wrap will be available in McDonald’s restaurants in the UK and Ireland.
