The taste of winter is finally here…
In the recent cold weather, it’s hard to know what to be drinking when you get in the door, still frozen from your walk home from work, the childminders or just around to the local shop.
We just want something that tastes good, looks pretty but also warms us up.
Our wishes and perhaps yours have been finally answered and it’s in the form of red wine hot chocolate.
The even greater news is that it’s super easy and cheap as chips to make in your own kitchen.
According to PureWow, this alcoholic cocoa can be made pretty quickly which is perfect for if you’re constantly freezing and in need of a boost.
To make yourself a mug, you’ll need…
- Milk
- Dark chocolate chips
- Red wine
- Whipped cream/marshmallows to finish
The method to this little cup of warmth and goodness is completed in 3 easy steps.
- Pour milk (it depends how milky you want it) but we recommend 1-1 and a half cups of milk and a third of the same cup full of chocolate chips into a saucepan.
- Stir the mixture on a medium heat, making sure the chips melt but don’t burn. The mixture should be creamy and thick.
- Lastly, for that extra kick, pour in a cup of red wine and continue stirring the mixture on the heat to make sure it’s good and hot.
Et VOILÁ! Delicious hot chocolate with a little extra oomph!
