How to make the viral sleeping bear pain au chocolate

Too cute to eat – almost.

If you are looking for an after-school treat (or breakfast for that matter) that will absolutely delight your little ones – look no further.

Instagram user @cristina_yin has the perfect – and unbelievably easy – solution.

Check out the video she recently posted of herself making adorable ‘sleeping bear’ pain au chocolats and tell me you don’t want to try these immediately.

I know! Us too!

All you need to make the chocolatey treats is a Jus-Rol ready rolled puff pastry sheet, some squares of chocolate, an egg, icing sugar, and some teddy bear biscuits (which I have seen in both Aldi and Tesco recently)

Also – it might work equally well with any other animal-shaped biscuit, I would assume.

“My god imagine for a baby shower/christening!”

How to

If you fancy making your own sleeping teddy treats, here is a breakdown of the video:

First of all, line a baking tray with baking paper. Then cut your pastry sheet into rectangles and place them into the tray.

Next, pop two squares of chocolate onto each piece of pastry and then place a teddy biscuit on top.

Now for his duvet – fold the pastry over the top of the bears as if you’re tucking them into bed, and use a fork to create ridges around the edges.

You want the treats to turn a golden brown colour when baked, so now you need to simply brush the pastry with the beaten egg mixture – then pop them in the oven.

When the bears have cooled, simply dust some icing sugar on top and serve.
