We’re dying to try the ‘healthy’ pizza chain that has finally come to Dublin

Any excuse for a takeaway, TBH.

Do the dog on it over the long weekend? Tell yourself you’re off bold food for the foreseeable?

Everyone’s back in work and trying to commit to salads at the moment but we feel like a takeaway is calling our name.

If you can be bothered whipping up your own healthy fakeaway, more power to you – but if not there’s a handy new option on the south side of Dublin that promises to hit the spot without completely throwing your healthy eating plan.

NKD Pizza has arrived in Ireland.

Already popular in the US, the UK and other countries, the chain has just set up shop on Orwell Road in Rathgar.

It offers an alternative to your standard takeaway pizza in that it claims to be less processed and that it won’t to leave you bloated after eating.

It’s all down to the base, made with a dough containing ‘super grains’ like quinoa, buckwheat and amaranth.

That all sounds a bit notions-y, we’ll admit, but we’re willing to give it a go if it means avoiding our usual pizza coma.

Aside from the base, the toppings seem pretty much standard and thankfully include cheese, which is something we could never do without on a pizza.

The sides and desserts are kind of swanky too – pesto or garlic focaccia with mozzarella and garlic, sriracha chicken wings, Nóbó ice-cream and the like.

Sounds like it’s worth a go to us.
