Nutritionists say this is the best breakfast you can eat for weight loss

We could get on board with this.

They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day.

Some people find it hard to eat well first thing in the morning and many don’t eat breakfast at all.

A number of studies have said skipping breakfast is not a good idea, so here are the best things you can eat at breakfast time if you wan’t to lose weight.

According to nutritionists Stephanie Clarke and Willow Jarosh, you should be aiming for around 300-400 calories in the morning if you’re focusing on weightloss. They recommend that 50% of these calories should come from carbs while 15% should be protein and the rest should be fibre and sugar.

Using that logic, Indy100 provided examples of what you should be eating.

  • 45g of porridge made from steel cut oats, made half with water, and half with unsweetened soya milk, with a handful of blueberries, one tablespoon of chopped walnuts and a drizzle of maple syrup
  • Scrambled egg with two eggs, 65 grams of spinach, one tablespoon of chopped onion, half a tablespoon of olive oil, and one slice of wholegrain toast, served with 75 grams of blueberries or raspberries
  • Two tablespoons of natural peanut butter on one slice of wholemeal toast, with one banana and a sprinkle of cinnamon

That doesn’t sound so bad, we could definitely get on board with this and it’s certainly better than skipping breakfast, then eating a chocolate bar at 11.
