We’re planning a shopping trip after hearing about these white chocolate Christmas cocktails

Cathy Donohue

A White Christmas Cocktail, say no more.

Christmas lights have been turned on, festive films are set for release and we can feel the most wonderful time of the year fast approaching.

The shops are likely to get frenetic in the coming weeks as hordes of people attempt to get their shopping sorted with weekends always the busiest.

After a frantic day getting all your bits done, you’ll want a break and some sustenance, and what better to quench your thirst than a Christmas-themed drink?

Dublin’s Grafton Street gets pretty festive every year and once you’ve conquered the hustle and bustle, there’s a gorgeous cocktail bar tucked out of the way, ideal for a post-shopping treat.

It’s called Urchin and for Christmas, they have introduced some rather delicious-sounding beverages.

A White Christmas cocktail is guaranteed to please anyone with a sweet-tooth, note the sugary goodness below.

A festive fusion of marzipan infused vodka, Mozart white chocolate liqueur, Créme de Cacao, cream and sugar syrup, garnished with snowy coconut flakes, vanilla custard and cranberries.

Given the current freezing weather, a warm drink might be in order and the Hot Buttered Whiskey would have you feeling cosy in next to no time.

Clearly, they’re expecting lots of weary shoppers over the next few weeks and we’re loving the sound of the Christmas Shopping Pitstop.

It includes a snack of ham croquettes and piquillo sauce, and a choice between a glass of wine, pint of beer or a festive Mulled Wine or Hot Port for €15 per person.

It runs from 12 noon until 5 pm and it’s the perfect incentive to get your shopping finished early, see you there!
