People are raving about the hospital food at the Rotunda and I can see why

It looks so good I'm almost tempted to have another baby.

Yesterday the food from the Rotunda hospital in Dublin blew up on Twitter and after reading a few tweets it's easy to see why.

With presenter Louise McSharry stating 'I don’t mean to alarm you, but they’d easily charge nine quid at a food stall at Electric Picnic for the burger I just got served in the Rotunda' how could I not investigate further?

I have to admit when it comes to hospital stays I always dread the food. I've had to be an in-patient at Irish hospitals several times and the food is generally unappetising, to say the least.

I've never been a patient at the Rotunda so I always just assumed their meals were the same as everyone else's but as it turns out I could not have been more wrong.

Their executive chef made a point of saying online that‏ the Rotunda patient food is hand carved and plated up at the ward. Never travels in a hotbox, plated and straight to the patient.

The food looks so tasty in fact that even the dads want to get in on the action.

I really can't blame them because that looks like something you would get served in any five-star restaurant.

I've often wondered why when hospitals are places we go to heal that patients are often served food with almost no nutritional value.

Hopefully, more hospitals across the country will take note of the Rotunda's amazing standard of food quality and make it a part of their menu.
