New drink White Claw Hard Seltzer is launching in Ireland next month

Jade Hayden

Hold me.

It’s summer time, and while that would usually mean spending the majority of our time sat in a beer garden with a crisp cold one in our hands, we can’t do that anymore.

What we can do, however, is enjoy some casual drinks out our back gardens, front gardens, or indeed, in the park in groups of no more than four people.

And lucky for us, a new incredibly refreshing, and wildly popular alcoholic drink is launching in Ireland next month.

White Claw Hard Seltzer is a US alcoholic drink made from sparkling water, triple distilled spirit and a hint of natural fruit flavour. It’s also only 95 calories a can, so you know, go nuts. In moderation.

Available in raspberry, black cherry and natural lime natural flavours, White Claw is gluten free, has an ABV of 4.5 percent, and contains no artificial sweeteners.

The drink has pretty much taken the US by storm since it first launched back in 2016, with sales increasing by a massive 240 percent in 2019 alone.

“We’re thrilled to be bringing White Claw Hard Seltzer back to Ireland,” said Davin Nugent, CEO of Mark Anthony Brands International.

“The decision to make the country one of the lead European launch markets was an easy one, as consumers familiar with the brand in America have made sure to have their voices heard on our social media channels; demanding we bring White Claw home.

“Irish retailers have also been hugely supportive of our plans as we seek to lead the development of an entirely new category in the alcohol beverage market, just as we have done in the US.”

Each can of White Claw costs €3.50 and will be available to purchase nationwide from June 1.

Can’t wait, imo.
