What is lactose intolerance?

Lactose is the naturally occurring sugar found in milk and other products containing milk. Lactose intolerance is a person’s inability to digest and absorb lactose. It causes unpleasant symptoms when milk or foods containing milk are consumed. Common symptoms include bloating, cramps, excess wind and diarrhoea.

Avonmore Lactose Free milk is made with regular cow’s milk, but with the added enzyme lactase, which breaks down the lactose in milk, making it easier to digest and helping to avoid the unpleasant symptoms of lactose intolerance.

You don’t need to worry about you or your child missing out on the benefits of drinking milk either; Avonmore Lactose Free milk is high in calcium and protein, and is also enriched with Vitamin D (to help absorb calcium), Vitamin B2 (to maintain healthy skin) and Vitamin B12 (for healthy blood and nervous system).
