The delicious coffee smoothie that will be your new (and healthier) morning go-to

There is no denying that we are a tad obsessed with our coffees over here at HerFamily HQ.

Our java habit keeps us going. It gets us out the door in the morning (after little sleep and early morning toddler taming) and keeps us awake and ready for anything our busy schedules may throw at us.

Which is  why, when we came across this recipe turning our favourite beverage into a delicious chocolatey smoothie – that is actually quite healthy too – sure we just had to try it. The protein powder makes it really filling, meaning you can actually get away with having this little treat as an actual breakfast.

Chocolate Espesso Protein Smoothie
Ingredients
  • 1 banana, chunked and frozen
  • 1 scoop chocolate protein powder
  • 1 tsp instant coffee grounds {or ½ cup brewed coffee, chilled}
  • 1 tsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp cocnut palm sugar (optional)
  • 1 cup cocnut milk (or other plant based milk)
  • ½ cup ice {optional}
Instructions
  1. Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth!
