Scientists Are Claiming That THIS Is The Most Addictive Food

And there we thought it was just cheese that we had to watch out for!

The latest development is that scientists have argued that it is possible to create an “addictiveness scale” in order to determine which processed foods are the “crack cocaine” of the food world.

Researchers at the University of Michigan identified addictiveness by factors including “loss of control over consumption, continued use despite negative consequences, and an inability to cut down despite the desire to do so.”

After testing one method, the experts ended up changing their approach and simply asked almost 400 people to rate the addictiveness of a number of common foods on a scale of 1-7 based on the aforementioned factors.

And the winner was… pizza!

According to IFLS pizza was the clear winner with an average score of 4.01. It was followed by chocolate and chips which had a joint rating of 3.73.

All of the foods which rated highly were (unsurprisingly) highly processed and rich in sugar, fat, or both.

The least addictive foods were found to be cucumber, carrots and beans – basically all of the foods that you know are good for you.

Whilst we would question the “scientific” evidence behind the study, we can’t argue that we are a little addicted to pizza.

But it doesn’t have to be bad for you. Here is a recipe for a 200-calorie pizza that you can make in your very own kitchen.
