This is the food you should eat for breakfast to avoid colds

It's worth a try.

It’s worth a try.

It’s hard to avoid getting a cold in winter because chances are you’ll catch it from someone in work or at home. There are some things you can do to try avoid getting it, like taking Vitamin C supplements or some drops of echinacea, but it’s easy to forget these on a daily basis.

If you’re looking for an easier way to try and avoid colds there’s something you can add to your breakfast that will help.

Experts say that eating yoghurt for your breakfast can stave off a cold. When it comes to bacteria in the stomach, there is the good kind and the bad kind. Yoghurts are probiotic foods and can help to replenish the good type of bacteria that promotes digestive health.

Karen Ansel, RD, a spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics told Health, “There are over 10 trillion bacteria living in our gastrointestinal tract, so you want to make sure the good ones outnumber the bad ones.”

So, adding yoghurt to your schedule is hugely beneficial and also very tasty. You could have it first thing in the morning or keep it for a mid-morning snack.
