The 2020 Pantone colour of the year has officially been announced – and we absolutely adore it.

The start of a new year can, for many, bring lots of changes: new jobs, new homes, new relationships, new travels.

But if you’re looking to make a change on a smaller scale, like to switch things up in your gaff, then you may be interested to know that Pantone have revealed their colour of the year.

PANTONE 19-4052 Classic Blue, a calming, timeless shade which Pantone called “elegant in its simplicity”, has been named the colour of the year for next year.

The organisation notes that, as our psyches recognise the shade as being a restful colour, PANTONE 19-4052 “brings a sense of peace and tranquility to the human spirit.

“We are living in a time that requires trust and faith. It is this kind of consistency and confidence the tis expressed by PANTONE 19-4052 Classic Blue, a solid and dependable blue we can always rely on,” Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Colour Institute said.

“Imbued with a deep resonance, Classic Blue provides an anchoring foundation. A boundless blue evocative of the vast and infinite evening sky, Classic Blue encourages us to look beyond the obvious to expand our thinking; challenging us to think more deeply, increase our perspective and open the flow of communication.”
