10 of the purest things in life to remind you that the world isn’t all bad

Just a little happiness to make you feel better.

1. Puppies.

I mean, this is an obvious one but that doesn’t mean it should be left out. Because puppies should never be left out. They have to be the purest things on earth. They’re adorable, they’re fluffy, and they trip over their own paws.

Honestly, a day with puppies in it has to be a good day.

2. A bubble bath

Really, sometimes you just need some you time. There is no better way to relax than with a hot bath filled to the brim with suds and bubbles.

Get your partner or parent, or whoever’s on babysitting duty, to get the kids out of the house so you can get some peace and quiet. Throw on some relaxing music, make sure to grab yourself a scented candle and set it burning. The scented part is optional but the candle itself is non-negotiable.

Trust us, a bubblebath by candlelight is the only way to go.

3. A perfect holiday

Okay. We know. There’s no such thing as a perfect holiday. Something is always bound to go wrong at some point. Sure, we accept that.

We’re talking about those holidays that, despite any blips that may occur, leave you with only good memories.

Whether it was the way the sea glittered, the comfiness of the bed you stayed in, or how much fun your kids had every day, some holidays just leave you feeling, well, happy.

4. This pig having a sunset stroll along the beach

We are delighted that this pig, whomever he may be, gets to enjoy his lovely evening stroll by the shore. Absolutely delighted.

5. New pyjamas

It’s always great to get new clothes but there’s something extra-special about pyjamas.

They’re just so comfy, and so soft and silky.

To give yourself the ultimate new-pyjama experience, make sure you have freshly cleaned sheets on the bed, puffed up pillows, and have just had a relaxing candlelit bubblebath. Perfection.

6. A refreshing drink

Might sound pretty basic but, honestly, is there any better feeling than having that first glug of water when you’re completely parched?

For those of you who love the sweetness of fruit, Celtic Pure Irish Spring Water‘s new hint of fruit range is ideal for quenching your thirst. Their flavoured water comes in a range of flavours, is sugar free and has no added sweeteners.

Their kids bottles are perfect for the little ones. They’ll get that taste of fruit without all the sugar of a juice drink.

Completely pure and not boring.

So refreshing.

7. Hummus

Now, no hate here please. If you don’t like hummus, we’re sorry, but that doesn’t change the fact that is the best accompaniment to food in the world.

It’s delicious and it goes with everything. Throw it on a sandwich, dip some veggies in it, throw it in some pasta, have it with some chocolate cake. Okay, well, maybe it doesn’t go with EVERYTHING. But still. Nutritious and delicious.

8. This policeman helping baby ducks cross a road

This is just the purest and nicest thing we’ve ever seen. The way he apologises to the drivers who are waiting just makes it so much better.

9. A good book

Sometimes life gets a bit busy and we can go months and months without reading a good book. That only makes it even better when we finally get the time to settle down somewhere with a page-turning thriller or a magical fantasy.

For us, winter is book season. We love a good book all year ’round and summer reads are great but there’s something enriching about curling up in front of the fire, covered in a blanket, tea or hot chocolate in one hand, and a great book in the other.

And we mean a book. Kindles are great; they’re handy, they’re light, and perfect for a long holiday. They still don’t beat the smell of a good book or the feel of its pages. No siree.

And, finally, we leave you with…

10. This seal playing with a butterfly

Look at him. He’s absolutely fascinated.

Cute as a little button.
