Sometimes life can be a little bit unfair – and sometimes it can give you a serious kick in the hoo-ha.

We’re only just getting to terms with the fact that Aidan Connor, played by Shayne Ward, is to leave the Corrie cobbles next year.

Now there’s a further blow for fans with the news that Eva Price is also exiting the soap.

The character, played by Catherine Tyldesley, will appear on screens for the last time next summer after over six years.

“Cath’s portrayal of Eva Price has made her a firm favourite amongst fans and she will be missed,” Corrie’s producers have said.

The actress says she’s leaving Weatherfield to pursue different roles.

“Coronation Street has been a dream job for me which is why this was such a difficult decision to leave,” Catherine told the Sun.

“Eva has been such fun to play over the last seven years, and who knows, one day she might storm the cobbles of Weatherfield again.

“In the meantime I’m excited about the future, new acting projects, and spending time with my family.”

News of her onscreen partner Shayne’s departure from the soap broke yesterday.

He’ll be leaving in an “explosive” storyline next spring.

“Viewers are going to be absolutely stunned. It’s going to be a blow for the fans — but also a massive TV moment,” a show source said.
