Charity Dingle has been praised by Emmerdale viewers after bravely taking a stand against DI Bails.
It was recently revealed that the long-time character was groomed and sexually and emotionally abused by the police officer when she was 14 years old.
And in scenes that played out on Tuesday night, Charity exposed him in front of a packed hall full of his police colleagues, supporters and journalists.

The traumatised pub owner watched in horror as DI Bails made a speech at a sexual exploitation awareness campaign, talking about respecting and protecting vulnerable women.
As he ended his speech by saying that “every woman counts”, Charity began to walk forward and slowly, sarcastically clap.
She asked:
“All women count? Except me, yeah? Because I’m guessing if I counted for anything then you wouldn’t have hurt me, would you?”
Others tried to stop her, but DI Bails said it was alright – and urged the press to “ignore the outburst”, and that Charity had undergone a “terrible ordeal.”

Charity said:
“Yeah – at your hands! I mean, I was like these idiots… I thought you were a hero, someone that actually wanted to help me, to save me.”
Despite DI Bails’ insistence that he tried, she continued:
“But what? You thought it would be much more fun to keep me locked away for months, did you? Yeah? To keep me as your little plaything? Just for you and your paying mates…”
Anyone else think bails wife didn’t look that shocked?

He tried to insist, again, that Charity had a problem and simply “needed help”.
Again, she persisted. As she stepped forward, Charity said:
“That’s what you said the last time – and then you raped me, didn’t you? Over and over and I was just a kid.”
Charity just exposed this bastard in front of everyone and Emma Atkins killed it I’m cheering and crying at the same time amazing episode of #emmerdale

DI Bails began to panic as he told her that she was “imagining things”, and the packed out room that she was “wrong.”
Charity began to pull out some of the £20,000 hush money that Bails had given her, admitting she was “wrong to ever take a penny from you.”
After she told him to take his “hush money” back, she thew it at him – and he yelled at the police for them to get her out of there.
