Connor McIntryre teases possible return to Corrie as Pat Phelan’s twin

Wait, what?

Connor McIntyre has teased a possible return to Coronation Street – as Pat Phelan’s twin brother.

The villainous builder’s reign of terror came to an abrupt end last summer, when Anna Windass stabbed him to death.

However, fans are still hopeful that McIntyre will return to Weatherfield one day – and it looks like the actor feels the same way.

Speculation about McIntyre’s possible return to Coronation Street began when one hopeful viewer shared their theory on Twitter.

They said:

“I’ve said it before. Please bring in Mick Phelan, Pat’s identical twin, hell bent on revenge for the loss of his angelic brother! #patandmick #haventstoppeddancingyet.”

The actor replied to the tweet with a prayer emoji – and another fan had an idea that McIntyre seemed to be equally as fond of.

The second fan wrote:

“I keep saying this. Bring @connor9mcintyre back as Pat Phelan’s identical twin brother. Nat Phelan.”

This time, McIntyre replied with the Nat Phelan hashtag – and an eerie photo showing what appeared to be a mockup of Nat’s possible return.

Now, despite fans’ pleas for Phelan to return, that seems awfully unlikely. Especially since he had already returned from the “dead” once before (and not to mention the fact that he was stabbed to death by Anna).

But we wouldn’t rule out a dramatic twin reveal – it would definitely fit in with seaplane, after all…
