Her departure from the cobbles is “imminent”.

Coronation Street’s Kym Marsh has promised “a lot of drama” for Michelle Connor ahead of her exit.

Earlier this year, the actress announced that she would be taking a break from the cobbles after having played the soap for more than 10 years.

And during an appearance on Tuesday’s episode of Lorraine, Kym promised that there was going to be lots of drama on the way before she goes.

“It will be dramatic, as are most of my storylines on Coronation Street,” she said. “Between now and my character leaving the street there’s a lot of drama to be had.”

The actress also took the time to reflect on her journey on the soap, and how she has had a “wonderful” time on Corrie.

“I’ve been very, very lucky – I’ve had some fantastic storylines,” she said. “It’s been a great run for me and 13-and-a-half years just flew by.”

She added that she was going to be missing her co-stars the most when she does leave the soap, as she had “made friends for life.”

Kym first appeared on Corrie in a cameo role, playing Michelle Connor, back in 2006.

Her popularity with viewers landed her a permanent role on the soap.

In February, the actress announced that she would be taking a break from the soap.

“When I was lucky enough to be offered four episodes, I could never in my wildest dreams have thought I’d be here 13 years later,” she said at the time.

“It’s been an incredibly difficult decision but it feels like the right time for me to explore some other roles. But this isn’t the last you’ve heard of Michelle Connor – she’ll be back! I can’t wait to see what the writers have in store for the future.”
