Corrie’s Daniel Osbourne set to be hit by a car as he struggles to cope after Sinead’s death

Coronation Street’s Daniel Osbourne is set to be hit by a car after he struggles to cope with his grief after the death of his wife, Sinead.

The widower left Weatherfield with his young son Bertie earlier this week, after he clashed with Beth Tinker over the kiss he shared with Bethany Platt.

And it looks like Daniel – who is played boy Rob Mallard – will see his difficulties continue in the coming months, but will get a harsh reality call after he gets hit by a car.

“Daniel’s not going to be able to catch a break over the next few months,” an insider told The Sun“He will increasingly struggle to cope with living without Sinead and raising his son Bertie.”

The source added that Daniel’s stress levels “will rocket” – and, while he’s not paying attention, he will end up getting hit by a car.

“It really shakes him up realising how close to death he could have been with it potentially leaving Bertie as an orphan as a baby,” they continued.

It comes as Lucy Fallon, who plays Bethany, recently admitted that her character’s kiss with Daniel could be what paves the way for her exit.

She told The Mirror how Bethany will struggle with her feelings for Daniel in the coming months, and that the kiss – which happened days before Sinead passed away – could lead to her exit.

“I think potentially this could have something to do with Bethany’s exit, I’m not sure what the actual plan is, and I don’t know what happens,” she said. “But we’ve filmed quite a bit of stuff after Sinead’s death with Bethany and Daniel, and nothing happens between them but Bethany still clearly has feelings for him, so we’ll see what happens.”
