“So, here’s the deal…”
EastEnders villain Stuart Highway left viewers seriously confused last night after he gave a bizarre ultimatum to the Carter family.
Stuart was discharged from the hospital in Thursday’s episode as his daughter, Zara, became increasingly worried about his behaviour.
She accused him of having a vendetta against the Carter family and began to wonder if she wanted to stick around in Albert Square.
Worried that he was going to lose her, Stuart promised to prove how he has changed – and headed to The Vic to talk to the Carters.
The psychopath recently tried to pin the blame for his shooting on Mick – and in an even more bizarre move tried to strike a deal and get the pub landlord’s family on side.
He said:
“I can’t tell the courts that he didn’t do it, but I can tell them that he didn’t mean to.
“That it was all one big horrible mess, that spur of the moment thing.
“He’ll do his time and then one day in time we can all put this behind us once and for all.”
Linda turned to Zara to ask her if she believed him, and she said she did.
Stuart continued:
“So here’s the deal.
“I’ll tell the police that Mick did it but didn’t mean to and in that way your Ritchie will get it put down to attempted manslaughter.
“But I’m only doing this if all of you accept the truth: he shot me.”
But EastEnders fans were particularly baffled by his remarks as there is no such thing as attempted manslaughter, as you can’t accidentally attempt to kill someone.
Fans were quick to point this out on Twitter.
Attempted manslaughter? How does that work then? #EastEnders
