EastEnders have revealed the full details of Lee Carter’s upcoming return to Walford.

The character – played by Danny-Boy Hatchard – left Albert Square in 2017 after struggling with his mental health, and as his relationship with Whitney fell apart.

According to Metrothe Carters are in for a family reunion this holiday season as Lee is set to return on Christmas Eve.

Scenes set to air later this month will show a worried Mick trying to figure out how he can help his wife, Linda, as her addiction to alcohol spirals out of control.

Linda assures him that she will cut back on drinking in the New Year, leaving Mick delighted – and he tells her that he has arranged a special Christmas surprise for her.

But things take a turn as the couple have a massive row after a dinner with Max Branning and  Ruby Allen goes wrong, and Linda leaves to go drinking alone in the Albert Square gardens.

She ends up falling asleep in the gardens, not knowing Lee has returned as a Christmas surprise.

Linda hits rock bottom on Christmas Day, as the Carters are desperate to find her as she is missing. And as Mick tries to pretend as if everything is OK, it gets too much for him and he collapses after having a panic attack.

  • The scenes are set to play out beginning Christmas Eve.
