Coronation Street’s Eva Price left Weatherfield for a new life in France last night – and she wasn’t the only one bidding the cobbles farewell.
The final moments of the episode saw the new mum, played with Catherine Tyldesley, duck out of the Rovers noticed after leaving a note for her sisters, Leanne and Toyah.
She got into a cab with baby Susie, as well as her boyfriend, Adam Barlow.
Her letter read:
“I wish there was an easier way to do this.
“I wish so many things were different. Me and Susie need to start a new life, we need to leave the past behind us and try to move forward somewhere else.
“I’m destroying too many lives if I stay. I’ve hurt too many people. We need to be somewhere where no-one will know us, where we can start afresh.
“Please don’t hate me, I love you both but I have to do this for my daughter.”
While fans had known for awhile that Eva was going to be leaving, the bigger surprise came when it emerged Adam was going with.
After Eva asked if he was “sure” he wanted to do go, he replied:
“Well I love Camembert, love red wine and you’re not too bad either.”
Before getting into the cab, Eva uttered her final line on the cobbles: an ode to Rihanna.
She said:
“We found love in a hopeless place, Rihanna.
“Beats Shakespeare any day. I love you Adam Barlow.”
Fans were already upset about Eva’s departure, but the twist of Adam leaving with her left some absolutely heartbroken.
Others were happy that Eva and Adam seemingly got their happily ever after.

Eva will make a brief return for Aidan Connor’s inquest, with both Adam and Susie returning with her.
And while this will actually be Catherine Tyldesley’s final scenes as Eva, it’s not clear if Adam will be going with her when she leaves again.
There’s not long to wait until we find out, though – the scenes will play out next week.
