Why George and Charlotte don’t get as many presents as you’d think

They're not royally spoiled after all.

A lovely idea.

As heirs to the throne, you’d think that Prince George and Princess Charlotte would be spoiled rotten at this time of year.

Their Christmas is surely different to that of most other children but mum and dad Kate and William are reportedly keen to make sure the kids don’t receive too much.

George and Charlotte becoming spoiled would be their “worst nightmare,” a family friend of the Middletons has said.

“They’re both extremely careful,” the friend told Us Weekly.

The two will of course get plenty of presents from their family and friends but they also receive gifts from fans all over the world.

Rather than keep them all, the royal family donates these toys to children’s organisations, the friend said.

“Receiving that many gifts wouldn’t have a good effect on the kids,” they said.

Meanwhile it’s been revealed that top of Charlotte’s Christmas list this year is a doll’s house while George has asked for a police car, via an adorable letter he wrote to Santa.

The presents aren’t the focus of the day, though, the friend added.

“I think William and Kate love Christmas just as much as George and Charlotte.

“For them, it’s about coming together and enjoying the holiday.”
