“Today we say goodbye for a little while.”

Holly Willoughby has announced the passing of her grandmother.

The presenter shared the news on social media this morning, posting a sweet image of herself and her nan along with an emotional tribute.

“Today we say goodbye for a little while to my beautiful Nan,” she wrote.

“Go and be with Grandad… he’s been waiting for you… love you… miss you…”

The family matriarch passed away at the age of 90.

Fans shared messages of support with Holly, offering condolences for her loss.

The news comes after it was revealed yesterday that she wouldn’t be presenting ITV’s This Morning with co-host Philip Schofield this morning.

Rylan Clarke told fans on Twitter that he’d be filling in for the day.

Holly, 38, is famously close with her family and previously revealed that she speaks to her 70-year-old mum Lynne “several times a day”.

“I still run everything past her,” she told The Mirror.

“If I’m about to buy a pair of shoes, I’ll go, ‘Mum, do you think I should be doing this?’

“It’s silly. I’m a fully grown woman, of course I can buy shoes. But I still like to talk to her about everything.”
