Anyone who’s ever been tasked with minding kids at a wedding will know that they can be a little unpredictable.

They’re also liable to get bored, which is why we didn’t see Prince George, four, and his three-year-old sister Princess Charlotte, during the royal wedding ceremony on Saturday.

The royal children were part of the bridal party and made their way up the aisle with their new aunt Meghan Markle but given that they’re so young, it was decided that they’d miss the actual church service.

After they and the other page boys and flower girls got to the top of the church, they went into a side room in St George’s Chapel where they were minded.

After the ceremony had ended, they and the rest of the bridal party, which included Meghan’s godchildren Remi and Rylan Litt, emerged and once again followed the bride as she made her way out of the church.

George and Charlotte, meanwhile, fell behind and left with their parents.

At the reception, they were treated to a show by entertainers hired especially by Harry and Meghan to keep them out of the adults’ hair.

“They knew the children would get bored while all the grown-ups were partying so they thought it made sense to have something to occupy the little ones,” a source told the Daily Mail.
